Latest Development

Just to catch up and document the latest development surrounding the Content Management System softwares I use (or ever used) at kyantonius.com, here is the list of links that may be somehow useful for you as well.

  1. PostNuke 0.750 Gold Release
  2. Mambo 4.5.1 RC4 available
  3. XOOPS 2.0.7.3 released!
  4. Land Down Under v701 is out !
  5. Movable Type 3.11 Released

As you can see, I haven’t updated my sites yet to the latest version of those softwares. Because of many things. One to mention for sure is the fact that I don’t have enough time to do such thing at the moment. Upgrading usually takes much time than you expected. If something goes wrong, it will hurt you as you have to re-do all work you’ve done. In the worst scenario, you are going to lose everything. So, ’till I’m ready for that, I will keep my sites untouched. Hands off!! πŸ™‚

Dictionary module/component/plugin released today!

Today, I released, as promised before, a dictionary module/component/plugin for three CMS at the same time. You can download it here.

I’m sorry, due to lack of time I can not provide the link for demo yet. I hope I could make it available soon for public view.

Have a nice weekend!

Update: May 25, 2004

You are now able to preview the Dictionary module/component/plugin for:
1. Mambo Open Source: click here.
2. XOOPS: click here.
3. LDU: click here.

Referring to all comments I got regarding this release, I would like to let you know that this Dictionary is the English US dictionary and it doesn’t include English spellings. My apology for any incovenience it may cause.

Dictionary module/component/plugin for XOOPS, Mambo and LDU will be released soon

By the end of this week, I hope, I could release a module/component/plugin called Dictionary for three CMS at the same time, respectively for XOOPS, Mambo Open Source and Land Down Under (LDU).

This dictionary module was initially coded by David Payne for PHP-Nuke and is derived from “The Online Plain Text English Dictionary” OPTED (http://msowww.anu.edu.au/~ralph/OPTED/), a public domain English word list dictionary, based on the public domain portion of “The Project Gutenberg Etext of Webster’s Unabridged Dictionary” which is in turn based on the 1913 US Webster’s Unabridged Dictionary.

FYI, the same module is already available for PostNuke when Prof. Rivera ported it to PN a long time ago. After his site is now offline for non-specified reasons, the distribution of the module has been continued by me until today. And now, I would like to make it available for other CMS as well. That was the main reason why I converted the module to work with three CMS I mentioned before.

I hope you will enjoy using it. Until then, please stay tuned.

Moved to MOSForge.net and an update for Quran module/component

To make the development of the MOS Qur’an component and module much better in the future, I already moved all activities regarding this component to MOSForge.net. Which means, from now on, all releases of the component will be available over there. Please visit the project page here.

Some weeks ago someone had pointed me some typos found in the surah (chapter) names for the English translation of the Quran module/component. He also had provided me the fix. What a nice guy he is. πŸ™‚ Thanks Ali Khan for your kindly cooperation. I really appreciate what you did. You can get the fix here. Moreover, no other significant changes have been done to this module/component.

For people who have downloaded it in the past, please update your Quran module/component with this file as soon as possible. And for the people who are going to download it, you don’t have to do anything. The fix file is already included in the package. Just follow the installation procedures and the module/component will be running well.

Note:
Due to lack of time, the PN Quran Module has not been updated yet with this fix. Therefore, I suggest you to apply it soon manually. More information about this will be available soon.

Indonesian version of Quran module is released!

As promised before, I already made the Indonesian version of Quran module available for public download today. This version will display Quran in Arabic and Indonesian, especially mentioned for all Indonesian Islamic sites running on XOOPS 2.

You can get the copy here.

The Indonesian version of the Quran module for XOOPS will be released soon!

As you might notice while you read the readme.txt file coming with the English version of the module, the Indonesian version of the Quran module is still missing. That’s right. I just didn’t have enough time at that moment to release it together with the English one. I was too busy. πŸ™‚ Insha Allah, it will be available soon and ready for public download. Thank you to someone who had reminded me with this issue.

Quran module for XOOPS released!

The Quran module for XOOPS 2 is officially released today for public download. This release was actually initiated by someone who had sent me an e-mail a few days ago, asked for the same module available for XOOPS as well. After some trials and errors, finally the module works under the XOOPS environment. I hope this module will be useful for all Islamic sites running on XOOPS out there. Just FYI, the module has only been tested with XOOPS 2.0.6. I don’t know whether it is also suitable for the earlier versions of XOOPS 2. Please try it by yourself, will you? πŸ™‚

XOOPS is a dynamic OO (Object Oriented) based open source portal script written in PHP. XOOPS is the ideal tool for developing small to large dynamic community websites, intra company portals, corporate portals, weblogs and much more.

Enough said, you can download the module here or see the demo here.

In the meantime, I will update all parts of this site to include this new release of the module. Which also means, I’m going to add a new part on my site, called XOOPS. So, have fun and have a nice weekend!

Update March 15, 2004:
I already moved the demo site to this server. You can access it through this link.

Quran Module for XOOPS is coming

Right now, I’m still preparing the release of the Quran module for XOOPS. The module itself is already done and as usual I just converted it from the original one developed for PHP-Nuke. I hope I can finish all things by the end of this week. So, to people who are going to need and use the module for their XOOPS site, please stay tuned… πŸ™‚
