The Way to Happiness

As I am not that busy at the moment, I start my reading activities again. I began my journey with this book, “Automatic Millionaire: A Powerful One-Step Plan to Live and Finish Rich” by David Bach and now come to one of my favorite old and legendary books.

Although I already read this book, “The Power of Positive Thinking” by Norman Vincent Peale, when I was at senior high school in Padang, reading that book again now always amazes my mind. It reminds me to something that I ever did and experienced, but would be hard to find when you become busy and forget that your life is not always about material stuff. You also need to seek your happiness, right? There is one thing I would like to share you, quoted from the book.

“The way to happiness: keep your heart free from hate, your mind from worry. Live simply, expect little, give much. Fill your life with love. Scatter sunshine. Forget self, think others. Do as you would be done by. Try this for a week and you will be surprised. (H.C. Mattern)”

Be a positive man, it’s all about your attitude and how you react on any conditions. You know what, you produce yourself the happiness. You can be unhappy if you want to be, but you can also choose happiness. Just say to yourself, “Things are going nicely. Live is good. I have God who always stands by me. If God be for me, who can be against me?”

In Islam, we also have that kind of attitude and when you dig into it you will find so many verses in the Al Quran that promote positive thinking, like this verse:

13.28 . Who have believed and whose hearts have rest in the remembrance of Allah . Verily in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest!

and one famous Islamic expression we always recite:

Allah is enough for us and excellent guardian

So, regardless your religion and your faith, you will always find your way to happiness. Just find it now! ūüôā

FYI, I have no intention whatsoever to promote the book by posting it on this blog. I just wanted to share something which I think would be useful to you as well.
