Sunnah and Hadith compilation for PostNuke

Today I made the sunnah and hadith compilation I already used for some periods of time on the PostNuke part of this site available for public download. Just get the copy here.

This compilation is powered by Static_Docs 0.9.2 Beta 2 which is available for free on Simon Wunderlin’s website.

All data you find here were taken from Islamic Server at MSA-USC. I have no intention whatsoever to use or copy the information for any commercial gain. All copyrights and credits for the data still remain the property of their respective owners.

If you need a more advanced and database driven sunnah and hadith compilation, you may consider this one which is commercially available at http://www.nzmuslim.net.

New Release of Weather Module for PostNuke

A few days ago, I got a copy of the latest version of weather module for PostNuke developed by Jean-Michel Vedrine from Marc. This release is actually a maintenance release of the module after some issues with grabbing forecast information from the main weather provider, MSNBC, have been fixed. And now the module itself comes with another great feature, namely it can also grab weather information from Weather.com. For the last one, you need to sign up for an account at Weather.com. Don’t worry, it’s free. Just click here and you will be redirected to the registration section. After all, you can control the way you retrieve the forecast through administration menu.

To make it available for public download, I already set up a new link on my site where you can get the copy of this great module. I hope the author doesn’t mind with this action. Please let me know, if someone has any objections with this distribution and I will remove the link right away. The download will be kept privately.

Get the copy of weather module here.
Demo: Click here.

Update (03:10 PM) :
I just got an e-mail from Jean-Michel regarding his weather module. He said that I’ve been allowed to distribute it on my site. Thanks God. :) He also kindly sent me the recent version of the module as well. If you already downloaded the module in the past, please update your copy with this one by clicking on the provided link above as some new features have been added to the module.

New blocks for PostNuke and modules for Mambo are released

I just wanted to inform you that two new blocks for PostNuke and two new modules for Mambo Open Source 4.5 Stable are released tonight for public download. Nothing special actually. I just modified and converted them from the original ones developed for PHP-Nuke to respectively, PostNuke and Mambo. I don’t know, I just don’t have any ideas at the moment to develop my own module, block or component. Maybe someday I will. Furthermore, you may believe it or not, converting or modifying one software from one platform to another platform has become my habit. :( Do you think this is a bad thing to do? Please have your say by leaving a comment here. I will appreciate any suggestions or comments from you as a visitor and a user.

BTW, let’s go back to the blocks and the modules I mentioned before. They both are exactly identical and simple in structure. The only thing which differentiates them is the CMS platform used to get the block/module working.

Prayer Times for Muslims
This block/module will display the daily prayer times of a specified city collected from PrayerMinder.Com. Before using it, please edit some variables you find in the file in order to have the right prayer times for your city.

Foreign Exchange Rates to Indonesian Rupiahs
This block/module will display the foreign exchange rates to Indonesian rupiahs on your site. Data are collected from KlikBCA.com, the site of one of the biggest banks in Indonesia.

You can download them all in the downloads section of this site, or just click on two links below:
1. PostNuke version
2. Mambo version

I hope you will enjoy the blocks and the modules.

Upgrade to MT 2.661 and ATL .7

I upgraded my blogging site to MovableType 2.661 tonight.

In recent weeks, open comment systems, and Movable Type weblogs in particular, have become a target for comment spam and comment flooding (automated scripts that send many comments at a time to a weblog entry).

As a stopgap before we release comment registration in Movable Type 3.0, we’ve released version 2.66 of Movable Type, which includes some protection against comment flooding.

Source: MovableType.org

For more information about this release, please read here.

In the meantime, I also upgraded the theme engine I use for the PostNuke part of this site to AutoTheme Lite (ATL) .7. This great engine is developed by Shawn Mckenzie. Please visit his site for more information about it.

Two new ATL themes for PostNuke are released

Today I released two themes I made for public download. These two themes are the themes I used before I changed the theme of my site to the recent one. They all can only be used together with AutoTheme Lite (ATL) .7, a HTML theme engine developed by Shawn McKenzie. Therefore, please install ATL .7 first before using one of the themes.

  • Minimalist. As the name already said, this theme is really a minimalist. Without any images at all, just text only. It uses CSS quite extensive, although not tableless yet. Click here for preview and download.
  • YAMinimalist, abbreviation for Yet Another Minimalist. This theme is less minimalist than the first one. It uses some images and the rest are CSS-dependent. Click here for preview and download.

Any suggestions or comments regarding this release are always welcome.
I hope you’re going to enjoy using the themes as well.

Mig 1.3.8 for PostNuke

A few weeks ago, some people have asked me whether I would make Mig, the image gallery I use here, available to them by re-packaging it so that it can work instantly with PostNuke. At that moment, I honestly had no idea whatsoever why they came with such question. But, from some e-mails I got asking about Mig, it seems that they encountered some problems in installing it on their PostNuke site. Hmm… :)

Fortunately, I got free time today and have succeeded re-packaging Mig in order to fulfill the demand. You can now download it in the download sections of this site. The manual how to install Mig quickly is also available in the package. What you have to do is to unzip and upload the package into your server. After that, edit some variables in config.php and Mig is ready to use. I assume you don’t have access to run perl scripts and ImageMagick installed on the server to create thumbnail images automatically, that’s why you need to create them manually with your favorite image editor. For full documentation, please read the readme.txt and other documentation available in the package.

All credits go to the original author, Daniel M. Lowe.

I hope you’re going to enjoy it.

PN Dictionary redistributed

Two days ago someone had asked me whether the Dictionary module you see here is available for download. The answer is of course, yes!
Today, PN Dictionary has been redistributed by me as the original site where you can download the module before becomes inaccessible until now.
There are no changes made and all credits are still intact. You can download it at the downloads section of this site.

Have fun!

A Maintenance Release of PN Quran Module

A maintenance release of PN Quran Module (version 1.1) is now already available for public download on my site.

This release fixes some problems, updates some information and adds a new feature, such as:

1. Fixing broken links for listening and downloading the Quran
2. Adding a new audio feature when displaying ayats (verses) and surahs (chapters), which makes you easier to read and listen the Quran at the same time.
3. Adding security check function
4. Incorporating the random verse block within the module, so you don’t need to download it separately.

The module has been tested using PostNuke 0.71x and higher and on WAMP/LAMP environment.

Demo: Click here.
To download the module, please go to the downloads section of this site.

Please enjoy the maintenance release of PN Quran Module (version 1.1) and let me know if you have any suggestion, comment or find some bugs. Thanks.

Note: Please do not download the older version anymore and upgrade your current PN Quran Module immediately.
