Latest Development

Just to catch up and document the latest development surrounding the Content Management System softwares I use (or ever used) at kyantonius.com, here is the list of links that may be somehow useful for you as well.

  1. PostNuke 0.750 Gold Release
  2. Mambo 4.5.1 RC4 available
  3. XOOPS 2.0.7.3 released!
  4. Land Down Under v701 is out !
  5. Movable Type 3.11 Released

As you can see, I haven’t updated my sites yet to the latest version of those softwares. Because of many things. One to mention for sure is the fact that I don’t have enough time to do such thing at the moment. Upgrading usually takes much time than you expected. If something goes wrong, it will hurt you as you have to re-do all work you’ve done. In the worst scenario, you are going to lose everything. So, ’till I’m ready for that, I will keep my sites untouched. Hands off!! :)

Working with WordPress: An Initial Start

The main work is already done. The migration process is finished. Thanks God that everything has gone just like what I expected. After all, the process was easy and very educative. I learned so many new things and found that WordPress is the right blogtool for me. But, it also took time. So, please hope that I’m not going to do it anymore. I don’t want to make my hands dirty again. :D

In this entry I will not go further to discuss which one is the best between MovableType and WordPress. You should better read this entry, written by Thomas. He explained quite well the main differences between these two blogtools. The choice is yours. IMHO, anything would be fine as long as the software could meet your needs and you enjoy using it. It’s just like picking right clothes to wear when you know where you are up to. Right?
